Easy-Moderate
Crest Voland, Hauteluce
This pleasant mountain loop trail begins in Crest-Voland and takes you up to Lachat (1,650 m) before returning to your starting point. The hike is moderate in difficulty due to its steady uphill sections, some uneven terrain, and a total elevation gain of approximately 400 m, but it is still suitable for beginners and families with children who can handle a few hours of walking (2–2.5 hours).
You walk gently uphill through open pastures, passing the scenic area of Chalets Brûlés,
before turning right onto a path that climbs more directly toward the summit.
At the top, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Take some time to relax by the small lake, the Réservoir du Lachat, enjoy a picnic at the tables provided, or fire up the barbecue for a leisurely lunch.
Please note that swimming in the Réservoir du Lachat is not allowed. To return to Crest-Voland, first descend gently through the forest, then continue along Rte d’Entre Deux Nants and turn left to return to your starting point.
