From Les Houches To Les Gaillands
Easy hike in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc
Kick off your hiking holiday with this easy and scenic trail along the north side of the river Arve, perfect for all ages and experience levels.
Following this path you will be able to see wonderful views of the Mont Blanc massif.
At the end of the hike, you'll be rewarded with two exciting activities: the Park Aventure and Les Gaillands Rock Climbing (especially cool for the kids)
Destination points:
❶ Train station, Les Houches
❷ Turn right after the bridge
❸ Continue your walking along the Arve river
❹ Les Gaillands Chamonix
Description
Les Houches - Les Gaillands
1. Your hiking begins at the railway station in Les Houches. Follow the sign towards parc de Merlet.
2. After the bridge, turn right on the Chem. des Eaux Rousses.
3. Continue straight ahead along the path (parallel to the Arve river)
Don`t turn left (uphill) at the path crossing and don`t cross the river later on.
4. Your reach Les Gaillands Chamonix after ca: 1.5 h walking.
Walking back:
Take the train in Les Pelerins back to Les Houches (ca: 500 m away from the Les Gaillands Rock Climbing)
Variants:
After reaching the Les Gaillands, you explore (as planned) these two activities or if you would like to do that another day you could continue walking to Chamonix Downtown ca: 1.5 km where you spend the rest of your day. You come back from Chamonix to Les Houches by train( Saint-Gervais-les-Bains direction)
