Lauterbrunnen, Bernese Oberland
The Eiger’s North Face is as legendary as it is lethal. While its climbing history is intense, the Eiger Trail lets hikers experience that same dramatic spirit without needing expert gear.
To truly appreciate the mountain's grit before you go, watch the film The North Face—it’ll give you a whole
new perspective on the cliffs towering above you.
First, get to Kleine Scheidegg from Lauterbrunnen (38 min) or Grindelwald (32 min), next take a train ride (6 min) to Eigergletscher, there your adventure begins. From there, just follow the path downhill towards Alpiglen station.
As you descend, the majestic mountain unfolds around you. The path itself is a mix of surfaces, with some sections featuring loose gravel. Embrace the rugged charm and let the magic of the mountains seep in with every step.
After reaching Alpiglen station, you can take the train back uphill to Kleine Scheidegg - Lauterbrunnen, alternatively you can head directly back to Grindelwald for a relaxing end to your day.
